Students

Make it Happen! is a college readiness program that helps multilingual students build competitive academic profiles for college admission and financial aid. MiH! Site Coordinators help students take challenging classes, improve their standardized test scores, develop competitive college applications, and engage in leadership, community service, and professional development opportunities. To provide academic and language acquisition support, MIH! pairs language learners in grades 9-12 with volunteer academic coaches.

The Mentoring program pairs students with trusted and reliable mentors. Typically, mentors and students meet for a minimum of one hour a week, to talk about personal and professional interests, preparing for college and future careers, or working through homework and studying together.

Extended Learning Opportunities are provided with the help of local businesses and community organizations. They range from opportunities for community service, job shadows to help students learn first hand about jobs they might be interested in, to internships that provide real world work experience.
